Connect with Extension Leads

Almost each one of us, whatever we do or wherever we live, undoubtedly use an Extension Leads at our homes. Electrical gadgets form an essential part of our construction. Ranging from kitchen appliances to geyser fittings to car battery, we have electrical goods all around us. All these electrical items run on power (electricity). For energizing these tools, they need to be connected to the main power supply. But the fact is that it is not always feasible to have an electric switch or connection in proximity. Also, moving an electrical device close to the switch might not always sound a good option. So, what is the solution? Probably, a long wire connecting the far placed device to the electrical mains will be a good option.

Thus, the electrical companies came up with what is known as an extension cord or an extension lead. Itis a flexible electrical power cord or cable that is provided with a plug at one end and one or more sockets at the other. These Home Electrical cords are available in the market with varying lengths and thickness. Depending upon the requirement, one can choose appropriate dimensions. Additionally, the device is provided with security features to avoid any electrical shocks. As a precautionary measure, electrical cords have a polarized plug, receptacle grounded terminals, power on indicator, fusible link or a residual current device.

Extension leads are also available as extension reel wherein the entire cord length rolls around the plug such that the device becomes compact and hence portable. Technically, the extension reel is used to carry full rated current. In terms of power ratings at which these are available, there are several restrictions imposed on the sale of these devices. For instance, in Europe, the domestic voltage is of 230 V, which is not too high, thereby reducing the risk of an electrical breakdown. However, to keep the things on a safer side, the extension cords include an automatic cut out mechanism. So, what are you waiting for?Just walk to your nearest electrical store and find a solution to majority of your electrical problems. If you are feeling too lazy to do so, needn’t worry; you have several websites on the internet serving your purpose.
